I Wasn’t Overreacting
Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:39amGood to know I wasn’t overreacting about the droves of drunken children at the Gwen Stefani show the other night. An assemblywoman is actually calling for the venue to have its liquor license revoked after dozens of kids were rushed to the hospital with alcohol poisoning that very evening. Horrifying. One kid was eleven. I will say that I am NOT DOWN with revoking their license. This drinking was being done in the parking lot, not inside the venue. As always, the actions of a few boneheads ruin it for everyone. [thx to Rona for the heads-up]

I don’t think they should lose their license, but maybe the threat of that will make them step up and have stricter security in the parking lots and venue.
And God, that eleven year old kid!

There are some good comments on that article I linked to. Someone said, “Before you drop your kids off there for the evening, maybe you should take a look around.”
That’s all I’m saying.

Bayshore is my sister’s hospital. Ozzfest and HORDE are what they fear the most, usually. I’ll see what the hospital gossip is when I see her…

ELEVEN? What was an ELEVEN YEAR OLD doing at a concert unsupervised to the point s/he was hospitalized? Dear God, I guess the days of sparking a doobie and watching some live music are over, huh?
